The CM3 unit has been designed for operation throughout the world. It can operate on any voltage between 95V and 265V and both 50 and 60Hz. There are no settings or switches - simply plug the unit in and switch it on. The supply is connected to a switched-mode power supply which in turn powers the internal controls and the printer. The switched-mode power supply complies with the European laws on EMC and harmonic distortion.

The mains supply is connected to an IEC style connector. A suitable connector and cable is supplied with each CM3. The cable is supplied without the mains plug although this can be provided at extra cost. The IEC connector on the CM3 has an on-off switch and a supply fuse. The fuse is a 20 x 5mm glass quick blow 250V 2A device and a spare is provided.
